Welcome to the Department of Respiratory Therapy and Health Sciences at Middle Georgia State University. Please take a minute to view our video above to learn more about what a Respiratory Therapist does! We offer two Respiratory Therapy degree programs:

1. Become a Respiratory Therapist:

The Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy Entry-Level Degree is a fully accredited program with outstanding outcomes which prepares students to become Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT). We accept applications for fall entry and work closely with you toward your career. Once accepted into the program, it is five semesters in length, and upon completion, awards a Bachelor of Science Degree in Respiratory Therapy. Sixty credit hours of prerequisite course work is required prior to entering the program and our faculty will advise you through this entire process.

2. Advance Your Respiratory Therapy Degree:

We also have a Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy Completion/Bridge degree program for NBRC credentialed RRTs with an AS or AAS Respiratory Therapy degree to complete their B.S. in Respiratory Therapy while also working within the field. This program is fully online, allowing students maximum schedule flexibility to complete their degree. Our RT faculty is committed to student success and is eager to assist you toward advancement of your degree.

CoARC Outcomes

CoARC accredits respiratory therapy education programs in the United States. To achieve this end, it utilizes an ‘outcomes based’ process. Programmatic outcomes are performance indicators that reflect the extent to which the educational goals of the program are achieved and by which program effectiveness is documented.
