Focus2 Career Assessment

We offer FREE career assessments for all current students.

Why take a career assessment?  Taking a career assessment helps you identify career options that relate to your interests, skills, values, and personality.  If you are undecided about a major, a career assessment will help you clarify what you like and don't like, making it easier to narrow it down to the right option for you.  Even as you begin your job search, a career assessment can help you expand your knowledge of the career options available to you and help you understand the duties, tasks, and skills related to the occupations you are considering.

Next Steps
After you complete a career assessment, we recommend that you review your results and then use Handshake to schedule an appointment with a career advisor.  All undecided students or those considering a major change should meet with a career advisor to make sure they are using a variety of occupational information when making a decision. Students who are thinking about an internship or beginning their job search can benefit by meeting with an advisor to review their results and to identify how their work interests, values, skills, personality, and leisure interests relate to the types of careers they are considering. Go to mga.joinhandshake.com and select "Career Center" and "Appointments" to select your preferred day and time.

We also encourage you to use our Focus 2 Worksheet and the list of MGA Majors and corresponding Holland Work Interest Codes as well as the occupational resources listed below to learn more about the occupations and majors you are considering.
