Assessment Committee
Membership: The MGA Assessment Committee is divided into two subcommittees: the Academic Assessment Committee and the Administrative Assessment Committee. The Academic Assessment Committee consists of at least one faculty member from each school. The Administrative Assessment Committee consists of at least one staff member from each administrative unit. The MGA Assessment Committee also has one representative from Assessment and Planning, Academic Affairs, and the General Education Program.
Functions: The MGA Assessment Committee ensures that MGA “engages in ongoing, integrated, and institution-wide research-based planning and evaluation processes that (1) incorporate a systematic review of institutional mission, goals, and outcomes; (2) result in continuing improvement in institutional quality; and (3) demonstrate the institution is effectively accomplishing its mission.” Its primary function is in an advisory/supportive capacity to academic, administrative, and education support programs and/or units in regards to the assessment process. Accordingly, the Committee will:
- Annually review assessment plans and reports submitted by education, administrative, and education support programs and/or units
- Provide formative feedback regarding plans and reports
- Recommend assessment procedures, policies, and tools that promote a culture of assessment
