JOB SUMMARY: Middle Georgia State University is seeking a candidate for a Lecturer – Aviation Maintenance and Structural Technology position. This is a 10-month position with a teaching load of 15 semester hours per semester of undergraduate courses in areas to include, but not limited to: - Aviation Maintenance - Aircraft Structural Work also may include participation in research, in a variety of aviation-related subjects consistent with education and experience.

MAJOR DUTIES: 

  • Responsibilities include advising aviation majors and participating in college committee activities.
  • Develop course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, tests, and lab projects.
  • Construct training aids and mock-ups.
  • Instruct Aviation Maintenance Technology courses in the classroom and lab/shop.
  • Evaluate student achievement and competence.
  • Work with faculty and occupational advisory committee.
  • Provide academic and professional advisement to students. Market program and College.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s Degree required (prefer in aviation),
  • Demonstrate ability to teach and develop broad array of aviation training courses;
  • FAA – Airframe & Powerplant Certification required.

    Preferred: 

  • Bachelor/Masters preferred;
  • FAA Part 147 teaching experience preferred.

SALARY: Commensurate with education and experience.
