JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for scheduling and conducting test sessions for Middle Georgia State University.  

MAJOR DUTIES: 

  • Assists with the coordination and administration of tests primarily at a single campus.
  • Assists with the administration of special testing programs to accommodate students.
  • Returns all materials as specified; manually scores and reports test results on required forms.
  • Supports other Middle Georgia campus Testing Centers as needed.
  • Maintains and ensures the security of all testing materials and schedules.
  • Admits and verifies eligibility of testing candidates and communicates test procedures and rules.
  • Monitors candidates and resolves conflicts during testing to ensure a secure and appropriate testing environment.
  • Reports problems or issues that occur during test sessions to the appropriate individuals and prepares the associated paperwork and documentation.
  • Conducts room environment checks at the beginning of each test session and cleans test area after use.
  • Provides data and responds to surveys as requested.
  • Maintains currency for vendor delivered testing sessions.
  • Attends training and meetings related to testing processes.
  • Provides guidance and resources to others regarding the testing programs as requested and provides assistance in other testing program areas.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Identifies as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) 

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION: 

  • Knowledge of examination and testing policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of standard office procedures.
  • Knowledge of basic Math, English and Grammar skills
  • Skill in complex record keeping and filing systems.
  • Skill in standard software applications.
  • Skill in email communication.
  • Skill in written and oral communication. 

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS: 

  • The supervisor assigns work in terms of detailed and specific instructions.
  • The supervisor spot-checks work in progress and upon completion for accuracy, adequacy, and adherence to instructions and established guidelines. 

GUIDELINES: 

  • University System of Georgia policies and procedure
  • Middle Georgia State University policies and procedures.
  • Department of Testing policies and procedures.
  • These guidelines require judgment, selection and interpretation in application. 

COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK: 

  • The work consists of varied scheduling and test administration duties.
  • Strict regulations and high security requirements contribute to the complexity of the position.
  • The purpose of this position is to successfully schedule and proctor tests with minimal supervision and correct documentation.
  • Success in this position results in the efficient proctoring of exams to the university community and correct, detailed documentation on file for all exams given.

  • Contacts include, but are not limited to, co-workers, other university personnel, faculty, staff, students, vendors, representatives of test providers, and members of the general public.
  • Contacts are utilized most often to give or exchange information, resolve problems, or provide services. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

  • The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table, or while intermittently sitting, standing, walking, or stooping.
  • The work is typically performed in an office. 

SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY: This position requires no supervisory or management of other employees. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Three (3) years’ experience in test administration, teaching, training, counseling, or related field. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Work experience related to maintenance of technical data records; preferably in the areas of examination and testing.
