This position is an executive level position directing the university’s Office of Campus Strategy located in the Office of the President, reporting to the Chief of Staff.

MAJOR DUTIES:

• Collaborate with appropriate offices/departments for the needs of the multiple campuses in order to ensure high levels of student satisfaction, local focus, accountability and customer service.

• Recommend institutional priorities across multiple campuses.

• Employ university-wide systems, standards, and processes designed to deliver best practices across all campuses in a cost-effective, sustainable way.

• Identify opportunities and make recommendations to create quality enhancement efficiencies across campus operations.

• Develop and practice continuous process improvement in cross-campus collaboration.

• Assist in documenting processes used across all campuses.

• Represent the interests of multiple campuses on other University committees.

• Provide exceptional service in facilitating campus quality and coordination.

• Manages budget account as department ID holder, which includes monitoring expenses and adhering to budgetary guidelines.

• Performs related duties as assigned.

• Represent Office of the President on University Strategic Planning Committees.

• Assist in the planning of high-level institutional and Office of the President events.

• Produce special events and initiatives as defined by the President.

• Serve as a resource regarding procedural protocol and diplomatic protocol for events.

• Attend events as needed to ensure smooth operations and provide liaison between facilities staff and event hosts as needed to represent the Office of the President.

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS: None at this time

GUIDELINES: Guidelines include University System of Georgia policies and procedures and general college policies and procedures. These guidelines require judgement, selection and interpretation in application. This position develops department guidelines.

COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK:

• The work consists of varied duties including negotiating solutions among different offices, problem solving, documenting processes, and analyzing processes.

• This is an executive level position requiring competencies generally associated with such positions.

• The purpose of this position is to provide direction and oversight across campuses and at high level events.

CONTACTS:

• Contacts are typically with co-workers, faculty, staff, University System of Georgia staff, peers at other institutions, and members of the general public.

• Contacts are typically to give or exchange information; to resolve problems; to provide services; to motivate or influence persons; and to justify, negotiate or settle matters.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light objects, up to 25 lbs.

• The work is typically performed in an office.

• The work will require reimbursable travel between campuses and possibly other locations.

• This work requires the occasional evenings and weekend hours.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.

• Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand and meet the diverse objectives and functions of the position in order to direct and coordinate work institution-wide, usually interpreted to require three to five years of related experience.

• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

• High aptitude for technology.

• Higher Education experience

• University System of Georgia experience

• Master’s Degree

SALARY GRADE: Pay grade 25.
