Description: Middle Georgia State University is seeking candidates for the full time position of Senior Flight Instructor. This position is responsible for teaching students in the Flight major degree/certificate programs to meet the requirements necessary to obtain FAA Private, Instrument, Commercial and Flight Instructor Certificates. The successful candidate will also perform other related duties as assigned by the Chief Pilot. This position reports to the Chief Helicopter Pilot.

Knowledge and level of competency associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work; knowledge of computers and job-related software programs; skill to make timely decisions; skill in decision making and problem solving; skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public; and skill in oral and written communication. 

A bachelor’s degree in related field is required; Must hold the following FAA certificates: Certified Flight Instructor with Certified Flight Instructor Instrument rating (Helicopter), Commercial Pilot with Instrument rating (Helicopter), and a valid 2nd class medical free of any operational restrictions. Prior Cabri G2 experience, 100 in type, and 1000 PIC Helicopter; and no pending FAA investigations. Candidates selected for employment will be subjected to a background check.
SALARY:  Pay Grade 17
