Middle Georgia State University School of Business  invites applications exemplifying the teacher-scholar model for a 10-month tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor position teaching undergraduate courses, advising students, assisting in department activities, engaging in scholarly activities, and service. Academic preparation and teaching responsibilities will include the candidate’s ability to contribute broadly to the Business, Marketing, and Sport Management curriculum and have an exceptional commitment to student learning, and strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate would also have professional experience in the field of sport fitness management, an interest and ability to teach within areas of Finance, Marketing and/or Event Management and a willingness to teach across various methods of course delivery. In addition to teaching, this position will participate in program planning, accreditation activities, internship development including serving as internship coordinator, and student recruitment and retention.  MGA has a strong commitment to diversity and seeks a broad spectrum of candidates.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

The successful candidate will hold an earned doctorate in Sport Fitness Management or related field (PhD, DBA, DHA, EdD). Candidate enrolled in doctoral study (ABD only) will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates with the ability to provide leadership for developing the Sport Fitness Management program and teach core courses in the curriculum. Applicants must have a record of teaching and scholarship that warrants appointment at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor. Candidates selected for employment will be subject to a background check.

OTHER INFORMATION:

MGA welcomes teaching, research and service related activities from its faculty. Anticipated start date is August 1, 2019 and is contingent upon final budgetary approval.
