Middle Georgia State University is seeking candidates for a Federal Work Study position for the Career Services office on the Cochran campus (Sanford Hall, 112). 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Helps with daily operations of running the office (answering phones, making copies, dropping off/picking up mail, and assisting customers).

• Makes appointments for the Director of Career Services

• Provides one on one guidance on resumes and cover letters to students

• Instructs students on taking career assessment tests

• Promotes Career Services at school events such as Club Rush, Orientations, Grad Finale, etc.

• Conducts workshops and classroom presentations related to resume writing, job search, internships, etc.

• Markets Career Services events on campus via creating flyers, putting up signs, encouraging attendance to students, etc.

• Maintains spreadsheets and data related to sign-in sheets, number of event attendees, etc.

• Assists the Director of Career Services with other duties as assigned

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate MUST be able to work either a 8:30am – 12:30pm or 12:30pm -4:30pm shift Monday, through Thursday. Must have GPA of at least 2.5. Knowledge and skills required by the position include: knowledge of University policies and procedures; knowledge of customer service principles and practices; knowledge of computers and job-related software programs; and oral and communication skills. Must qualify for Federal Work Study.
