JOB SUMMARY: The Student Worker on the Macon Campus is a part-time position working up to 19 hours per week.  This position provides specialized support for students, faculty, and staff. Responsibilities include assisting in the daily operations of the Macon Campus IT department and reports to the System Support Specialist - Helpdesk. 

MAJOR DUTIES:  

  • Assists students with login issues with SWORDS, D2L and E-mail via phone or walk-in.
  • Answer phone and assist students/faculty/staff with IT needs such as two-factor authentication resets, setting up Office 365. etc.
  • Submit IT helpdesk tickets for faculty/staff.
  • Perform related duties as assigned. 

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION:  

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Office Suite, and Outlook.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with a diverse population.
  • Flexibility in working hours.
  • Ability to work independently and on a team as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Must be a current enrolled MGA Student
  • Must be enrolled at least 6 hours per semester
  • Must be able to work at least 19 hours each week
  • Must comply with strict confidentiality of information
