This position is responsible for the coordination of clinical experiences on and off campus. Specific responsibilities of the nursing skills lab include teaching psychomotor skills and incorporating technology and simulation experiences.


  • Develops and maintain schedule for laboratory activities on and off campus
  • Develop and maintain professional leadership affiliated healthcare facilities’ nursing education staff
  • Attends affiliation meeting in order to secure clinical areas for nursing labs
  • Resolves clinical placement issues as needed
  • Collect and disseminate required, time-sensitive student clinical documents to appropriate healthcare facilities
  • Supervise all students lab activities that occur outside of scheduled lab times which includes scheduling, teaching and evaluating students as they demonstrate lab skills and participate in simulation drills, supervised practice, and skills remediation in accordance to procedures and guidelines outlined in faculty approved course textbooks
  • Incorporate technology and simulation experiences in the nursing skills lab
  • Assist with skill check-offs
  • Coordinate the set up and clean-up of all teaching laboratory activities
  • Coordinate lab safety and waste disposal procedures
  • Coordinate the work of student workers working in the lab
  • Clean laboratory facilities
  • Maintain inventory of laboratory equipment and supplies
  • Coordinate the purchase of equipment and supplies
  • Repair or coordinate the repair of lab equipment as required
  • May research, evaluate, and recommend new lab materials and equipment
  • Establish and update laboratory policies and procedures
  • Perform related duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: An earned Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and an active Georgia nursing license are required.
