Music Program

Imagine. Create. Perform. Produce. Market. Manage.

The Department of Media, Culture, & the Arts is home to the Music Program at Middle Georgia State University.

Our Music Program provides a wide array of opportunities for music majors and non-music majors through courses, applied lessons and ensembles. Our new degree, the Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary Musicianship, is one of the most progressive music degrees in Georgia. Our Associate of Arts degree in Music is open access and provides a gateway to more concentrated study.

We are preparing our music majors for the 21st century cultural economy. They are imagining and creating product through courses in music technology, studio production, song writing, scoring and arranging. They are learning to capitalize on the artistic product through courses in marketing, entrepreneurship and nonprofit management.

Our Music Program is committed to diversity of artistic expression and affirms the music of Bach and the blues masters.
