Full Name:
Amy Carter

Residence: Macon.

Originally From: Savannah.

Family: "I have five nieces and a nephew that are my world: Bridget, Victoria, Layla, Lucy, Becca, and Jesse."

Job Title: Student Life Program Coordinator- Macon.

Degrees: Bachelor of Liberal Studies with English concentration from Armstrong Atlantic State University

Year she began working for Middle Georgia State (MSC): 2011.

What she does on the job: "I am responsible for coordinating Student Life programs to engage students on the Macon campus, I advise the Campus Activities Board, assist with new student orientation, sing 'No Scrubs' upon request and dance a lot."

One thing people don’t know about Middle Georgia State is … "Just how much we have going on every week on campus and not just from Student Life. Student organizations, academic-related programs, movie nights, study abroad, recreation and wellness, class-initiated activities - the list could go on and on. There really is something for everyone."

One thing people don’t know about her is … "I am a big scaredy cat. It’s thanks to my dad that most people do not realize this about me. Ever since I was young, he would push me to do the things that would scare me, like riding a crazy ride at Opryland or driving the boat in a crowded river. It was through these lessons that I learned that giving into fear would mean missing out on the best experiences in life. To this day, new experiences scare me but thanks to my dad I don’t let the fear win."

What she likes to do in her spare time is … "I enjoy exploring. My dream vacation would be to get a group of friends together, hop in the car and just drive without a set plan of where we will end up."

The one person she'd most like to meet is … "I would like to meet my maternal grandmother and my paternal grandfather. Both passed away when my parents were young and I never got the opportunity to know them. It would be nice to see how far the apple fell from the tree."

What she likes best about working at Middle Georgia State is … "Aside from the fact that I think we have the best students in the world, I love the people I work with. Dee Lindsey and Michael Stewart especially have been amazing to work for. I have learned so much from both of them and I appreciate the freedom they have given me to try new things. It is impossible to not love my job with such a strong support system."
