Job Title: Associate Professor of Respiratory Therapy.

Degrees: Master of Science in Respiratory Therapy from Georgia State University.

Year she joined Middle Georgia State College (MSC): 1994.

Some of her teaching career highlights are … "I spoke at the National Indian Society for Respiratory Care Meeting in Cochin, India, in October 2013. Seeing the field of respiratory therapy at work in India and its evolution was fascinating! The Indian people were such gracious hosts and I enjoyed experiencing the different culture through interacting with respiratory therapists and visiting different places. I have also participated in a medical exchange to what was then the Soviet Union. To experience the hospitals in Moscow, Kiev and at that time Leningrad made me appreciate what we have in
the United States."

She enjoys teaching at Middle Georgia State because … "I enjoy the people that I work with on a daily basis. We all work together well, and I think we all look after each other, personally and professionally. It is a great working environment. I also enjoy students, and getting to know them on a personal level."

Her favorite course to teach … "Mechanical ventilation. It is one of the courses that is tied to most other classes in some way, and I love it as I see the light bulb go on as students tackle those difficult concepts!"

One thing people don’t know about Middle Georgia State is … "We have the support of the administration in our classroom. I am aware of some schools that dictate the classroom environment, and that is not the case at MGSC."

One thing people don’t know about her is … "I started kayaking 2 years ago and I love it!"

In her spare time she likes to … "Read, quilt and travel."

The one person she'd most like to meet is … "Lewis Grizzard or Mark Twain! Everything I have ever read or heard by Lewis Grizzard just makes me laugh! I love Mark Twain for his outlook on life. Mark Twain says, “Life is short, Break the Rules. Forgive quickly, Kiss SLOWLY. Love truly. Laugh uncontrollably And never regret ANYTHING That makes you smile.”
