The show used Castro's "Bugaku,” from the compilation CD “World Percussion – Rhythm Journey” in season 2, episode 3. In season 2, episode 5, the show used Castro's “Brigamo" from the same compilation CD.
As Castro described them, “Bugaku” is a Japanese piece that features dramatically vibrant drumming. “Brigamo” combines syncopated drumming patterns with metallic rhythmic sounds.
As an internationally known percussionist, Castro has performed with the Ocmulgee Symphony Orchestra, the Macon Symphony Orchestra, the Hagen Theatre Orchestra (Hagen, Germany), the Seacoast Music Society, the Orquesta Sinfonica de Maracaibo (Venezuela), the Swiss Philharmonic Orchestra and the Orquesta Sinfonica Nacional (Dominican Republic). He has taught extensively in the Middle Georgia area, including at Mercer and at Warner Robins High School.
