Rutland High Students Weather the Storm with Success

For two Rutland High students graduation on Saturday is more than just a ceremony. It's an accomplished step into a bright future.

The road hasn't been easy for either of them paved with health problems and hardship.

But that didn't hold them back.

Both Haley Tyler and Brittany Snead are graduating seniors; both look forward to careers where they hope to help others.

"I want to be a elementary school teacher, early childhood education," Snead said.

Haley wants to be a psychologist. But it wasn't too long ago Haley and Brittany were the ones who needed help. Brittany has kidney disease that she says required chemotherapy. She had to quit cheer leading and missed more than three months of senior year.

... Haley and Brittany will attend Middle Georgia State this fall.
