Criminal Justice major Alex Jordan is a student leader on the Cochran Campus.

Full Name: Alexander Jordan.

Age: 19.

Hometown: Atlanta.

Residence: Jonesboro.

High School: “I attended Jonesboro High School, where I was a part of many clubs and organizations. I was the SGA president and Homecoming King my senior year. I was a member of the Fellowship of Student Athletes (FCA), prom committee, Latin Club, French Club, ROTC and orchestra. Also, I played soccer, football, basketball, ultimate, cross country and more.”

Family: “Everyone in my family is special to me, but the two people I am closest to are my cousins, Alexis and Nigel. They are close to my age and are going through the same struggles I am going through, whether it has to do with college, relationships or anything else.”

Employment: Resident Assistant, Cochran Campus.

Degree Objective: Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.

Class Rank: Freshman.

Primary Campus: Cochran.

Activities: “I am a member of the newly founded fraternity, Kappa Sigma, on campus and serve as the Rush chair. I was a part of the school’s fashion show. I am also on the Campus Activities Board in Cochran. I participate in all of the intramurals on campus - soccer, basketball, flag football and softball. I am a part of CSA, which is a multicultural club for people of Caribbean descent.”

Career Goals: “I want to become a private investigator or a defense attorney. The reason I would like to do either of these occupations is because the justice system is broken and I want to do my part to help fix it.”

He chose Middle Georgia State University because … “How many people can say they were a part of the first class at their University? Student Life and Greek Life are two great things this school has to offer. Having these organizations expand puts this University on the map. History is being made at Middle Georgia State.”

The greatest thing he discovered about Middle Georgia State was … “The great progress this school has made in a very short time.”

His greatest academic experience so far has been … “Receiving exceptional grades for the hard work I’ve put in. The facilities here and the way I applied myself prepared me for all of my classes and exams.”

To him, “greatness” means … “Making a name of yourself. Greatness is being a leader, leading by example and not following the crowd. Greatness is achieving what you set your mind to.”

One thing people don’t know about him is … “I am a huge supporter of cancer research, especially for breast cancer. My mother works for the American Cancer Society. I attend the breast cancer walk in Atlanta every year and also attend Relay for Life twice a year.”

The one person he’d most like to meet is … “Aziz Ansari. Aziz is one of my favorite comedians. It would be great to meet him and be cool with him because we both have goofy and funny personalities and I would like his wisdom on how to get a good laugh.”

In five years … “I hope to be pursuing my law degree or a private investigator’s license.”
