Student Insurance

Effective Spring Semester 2019, student accident insurance will be offered to aviation students on an optional basis. This same coverage is also available to other students, on the same optional basis. Students who are interested in enrolling in the accident coverage should contact Ron Ardelean at or visit the Risk Management page for "Student Injury Only Insurance".

The University System of Georgia requires that some students have health insurance coverage. The Student Health Insurance Program (SHIP) was developed to provide quality health insurance to students in mandatory categories at the lowest possible costs.

If you are required to have mandatory insurance coverage, you will be notified via your student email once you are registered for classes. Approximately 2 business days after you are registered, your information will be in the United Healthcare Student Resources database. You can take action through the United Healthcare Student Resources website during the enrollment period to request a waiver or accept the UHC coverage plan. You must do this in order to remain enrolled in a program that requires mandatory insurance coverage.
