Biography: Dr. Tammy Haislip is a passionate teacher-educator who found her calling after serving in the United States Navy. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education with a minor in history from East Texas State University, a Master of Science in educational software and information systems from Texas A& M University, and a Doctorate of Education in curriculum and instruction from Bob Jones University. Her first teaching experience was a return to her high school alma mater in rural east Texas. There she taught 11th grade World History and spent one class period a day teaching literacy to 9-12 graders who had difficulty navigating the content area textbooks. After 5 years in secondary education, she accepted a position at an elementary school teaching 3rd grade. Following this, she moved into a new position of traveling to regional Title 1 schools to serve identified gifted students. The program was called Socrates and the technology-driven curriculum was developed by Dr. Haislip. In 2003, she was named one of the top three Teachers of the Year for the state of Texas.

Dr. Haislip began teaching in the College of Education at Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC in 2006, and in 2014, she moved to Anderson University where she accepted the position of Coordinator of Elementary Education, and then Department Chair of Graduate Programs. In 2016, she was awarded the South Carolina Excellence in Teaching Award for professors in private colleges and universities.
