Out-of-State Tuition Waivers
Presidential Out-of- State Tuition Waiver
In accordance with BOR Policy 7.3.4.1, Middle Georgia State University awards a limited number of Out-of-State Tuition Waivers annually. Initial awarding of waivers is done on a first come, first serve basis and applicants are not guaranteed a waiver after the allowable number of waivers have been issued. To be considered for a Presidential waiver, new students to MGA must meet one of the following categories of criteria:
- Academic Waiver
- Beginning freshman students must have a 3.0 high school grade point average.
- Transfer students must have a 3.0 college grade point average.
- Graduate level students must have 3.5 college grade point average.
- International Waiver
- Beginning freshman students must have a 3.0 high school grade point average.
- Transfer students must have a 3.0 college grade point average.
- Graduate level students must have 3.5 college grade point average.
- Be accepted into MGA prior to submitting waiver application.
- Complete the Presidential waiver application with a one page statement that includes career interests, goals and the need for this scholarship/waiver.
- Submit waiver application and statement to by semester deadline:
- Spring Semester- October 1
- Fall Semester- May 1
MIddle Georgia State University offers a variety of out-of-state tuition waivers through The office of the registrar including:
- Border State for residents of Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee, who live or take the majority of their courses on the Cochran Campus.
- Economic Advantage for students whose self or family have relocated to Georgia to accept full-time, self-sustaining employment and have established domicile in Georgia.
- Full-Time Public School and Technical College System of Georgia employees or dependents.
- Full-Time USG employees or dependents.
- Military and Military Connected Students stationed in or assigned to active duty in Georgia, or former military personnel who have separated from the military.
- Non-Resident Students whose parent or court-appointed legal guardian has maintained
domicile in Georgia for at least twelve consecutive months prior to enrollment at the university or students whose spouses have maintaineddomicile in Georgia for at least twelve consecutive months prior to enrollment at the university.
