The Assistant Football Coach will assist coach, train and promote Club Football activities at the Cochran Campus. He/she reports to the Head Football Coach. This position is a temporary five (5) month position. MAJOR DUTIES: • Under the general direction of the Head Football Coach, the Assistant Football Coach is responsible for designing, implementing practice plans, game plans, and teaching fundamental and sportsmanship. • The Assistant Coach is responsible for his position group, during practice games. Assist and support the academic success of our players. • Assists with recruiting and perform other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the Head Coach. • Must be able to travel with the team to all home and away games. • Recruitment of assistant coaches and game day staff. • Assists with maintenance of Football game and practice fields, preparation of the game field for competitions. • Assists in the coordination of team travel, including transportation, meals and lodging when necessary. • Maintains uniforms and equipment. • Works with community organizations to promote football club in the community. • Assists with fundraising efforts for the club football. • Works with Assistant Director of Athletics to hire, train, certify and supervise student assistants to facilitate in game management for all club football games. • Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director and Head Coach. GUIDELINES: Guidelines include college and University System of Georgia policies and procedures. These guidelines require judgment, selection and interpretation in application MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours. • Knowledge of athletic program management principles. • Knowledge of sports field maintenance principles. • Knowledge of Football rules and procedures. • Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs. • Skill in the coaching and training of students. • Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions. • Skill in oral and written communications. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Experience as a player or coach at the collegiate or professional level preferred. • Minimum of 2 years football coaching experience. • Preferred Certification in CPR and First Air Preferred.
