Middle Georgia State University is seeking candidates for Temporary Flight Instructor. Teach flight students in the Flight Management major degree/certificate programs to meet the requirements necessary to obtain Certificates related to the major.

RESPONSIBILITES:

• Teach students in Flight Management major degree/certificate programs to meet the requirements necessary to obtain FAA Private, Instrument, Commercial, Multi-Engine, and Flight Instructor Certificates.

• Performs related duties as assigned by the Chief Pilot/Assistant Chief Pilot.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Specialized training in the field of work in addition to basic skills associated with a high school education. Possession of FAA CFI Flight Instructor license. Knowledge and skills required by the position include: knowledge of the principles of aircraft flight operations; knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) standards and requirements; knowledge of classroom and field training practices, teaching methodologies, assessment systems, and educational technology; knowledge of computers and job-related software programs; skill to make timely decisions; skill in decision making and problem solving; skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public; and skill in oral and written communication

If applicant is a student, must be enrolled in the Flight Management major, Associate or Baccalaureate degree programs at Middle Georgia State. Applicant will be selected based upon flight department practical and written test results, attendance records for flight and ground classes, a minimum 3.0 GPA, and the Chief Pilot/Assistant Chief Pilot evaluation of the applicants teaching skills.

SALARY: $14/per hour with a Certified Flight Instructor I License or $16/per hour with a Certified Flight Instructor II License/Multi-Engine Instructor License.
