Middle Georgia State Part of World Book Night Giveaway

World Book Night U.S. (WBN) is an ambitious campaign to give thousands of free, specially-printed paperbacks to people who seldom, if ever, read for pleasure. Volunteers give the books away at variety of locations.
Middle Georgia State faculty and staff who are participating will give books away from approximately 9 a.m. to 5 p.m on the college's Macon, Cochran, Dublin, Eastman and Warner Robins campuses. Exact locations on each campus are up to the volunteers, some of whom may simply walk around giving away their allotted 20-40 books, but Cochran Campus volunteers do plan to set up a table in the Student Center at noon.
Dr. Tracie Provost, assistant chair of the history and political science department, is spearheading the event for Middle Georgia State. She said volunteers will talk to people first to find out if they are already avid readers. If they are not, they get a free book.
