Peacock Gallery to Show Work of Anthony Faris

Middle Georgia State College's Peacock Gallery will display the sculpture of artist Anthony Faris from Tuesday, Sept. 2, to Friday, Oct. 3, 2014. A gallery talk and art opening for the exhibit takes place from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8. These events are free and open to the public.

James Anthony Faris is a sculptor, writer, photographer and mixed media artist living in southeast Georgia. Faris graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a B.F.A. in Photography. In 2014, Faris completed his M.F.A. from Georgia Southern University in 3D Art. Faris is a co-founding member of the Stillmoreroots group, a rural arts advocacy group. He has worked in community development as education and outreach director of Gallery RFD and director of downtown development for the city of Swainsboro.

Peacock Gallery is located in Russell Hall on the Cochran Campus. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to noon on Friday. Maps and directions at https://www.mga.edu/about/maps.php.
