Marine Davis Appointed Counsel to the President at MGA

Frances Marine Davis has been appointed Counsel to the President at Middle Georgia State College. Currently a member of the Pennsylvania Bar, she will be sworn into the Georgia Bar next month. Marine Davis joined Middle Georgia State in July as Special Assistant to the President, overseeing presidential communications and strategic initiatives, as well as legal affairs. A member of the President’s Cabinet, she serves as Middle Georgia State's Title IX Officer, chair of its Intellectual Property Committee, and as a member of its Administrative Assessment Council, Strategic Planning Committee, and Student Honors, Awards and Graduation Committee.

Prior to joining Middle Georgia State, Marine Davis spent more than a decade as an executive in the public and private sectors, most recently as Director of Communications at the Georgia State University School of Public Health in Atlanta. She began her career in state government in Florida, where she served as a spokesperson for the Department of Corrections, communications director for the Department of Education, and as a speechwriter for then-Governor Jeb Bush. From 2005-2007, she served at the federal level, working in public affairs at the U.S. State Department, FEMA and USAID.

Before relocating to Georgia in 2013, Marine Davis was director of public and media relations for Morgan Lewis, one of the 10 largest law firms in the country. Based in Philadelphia, she handled communications for more than 1400 lawyers across 24 offices.

Marine Davis obtained her law degree from the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law in Washington, D.C. She is originally from Miami.
