Middle Georgia State University offers study abroad programs for students at all levels and in all majors.
Credit-bearing study abroad programs:
- Exploring Evidence-Based Practice in Ireland: Summer program for BSN and Health Services Administration students at MGA. Complete your research course requirement while learning about Irish culture from the program's home base in Waterford.

Engineering and STEM in Germany Special Topics 3 credit hour – Department of IT -
Throughout the 13-day study abroad German journey, students will experience cultural insights, listen to guest speakers, and challenge their emic learning processes. Today, most students will work for a globally sustained industry. The program will increase the diverse mindsets of our students and create global views in their respected field of studies such as avionics or information technology.The study abroad Germany course/program will allow all students to experience STEM, information systems, innovations in all areas of study, and information technology challenges in today’s global market. The program's goal is based on the USG and AAC&U’s High-Impact Practices: Global and Diversity Inclusion, writing-intensive programs, undergraduate research, collaborative projects, and e-Portfolio.
Students will transvers the Germany country from southern to a northern port city before departing. Students will experience:
- Berlin’s urban sustainable development projects.
- Berlin’s Museum of Technology features several exhibits on industrial technology, ranging from rail transport to aviation.
- Berlin’s Topography of Terror Museum to understand historical innovations in warfare.
- Munich’s Deutsches Museum, the world’s largest museum of science and technology.
- Dresden’s Volkswagen Transparent Factory, which now serves as a “showcase for electromobility.”
- Hamburg’s Airbus Plant to learn about the technological approaches, production, and assembly of Airbus aircraft.

Experiential Learning Teacher Education
- Learn more about French culture by engaging with education majors from the University de Reims-Champagne Ardenne.
- Synchronous online sessions meet from 7:45 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. on selected Mondays.
- This experience is FREE to all MGA juniors. There will be an opportunity to travel to Grance Spring semester of senior year.
