Passport Information

Traveling abroad can be exciting, but since it involves going to another country it is always best to be prepared, and to remember you still need a passport. Utilize these links through the State Department to find the information you need to be informed and stay safe.

Mandatory Insurance

The University System of Georgia negotiates a system-wide insurance policy that is mandatory for all study abroad participants.

Starting August 1, 2024, the new Zurich policy will be administered by Gallagher, USG’s new insurance broker. The rates for the upcoming academic year (August 1, 2024 - July 31, 2025) for the new Zurich policy will be $1.14 daily.

This rate applies to all students, faculty, and staff engaging in any type of international travel (travel need not be study-abroad-based)

No separate plan is needed for faculty and staff on non-study-abroad-related travel. Any person affiliated with your institution may sign up to use this policy.

Dependents are covered at a rate of $0.82 per day (spouses and children)

Access to On Call’s 24/7 Global Response Center and Global Risk Intelligence Portal.
