Students: get started with handshake
How to Use Our Services
To meet with a career advisor, we recommend scheduling an appointment on Handshake. Once you have activated your Handshake account, go to "Career Center" and select "Appointments" to choose your day and time. We offer virtual appointments in addition to in-person ones at our offices in Macon (Student Life Center, 261) and Cochran (Sanford 112). Appointments will be available in Eastman starting in September 2023. Students and alumni can also call, email, or visit us to schedule an appointment.
If you are a student who takes in-person classes in Warner Robins or Dublin, you can request a virtual appointment or visit any of our physical office locations. You should also check Handshake to see when we will be on your campus for special events or programs.
We also host career development programs for students and alumni. Check Handshake and Facebook for updates and new opportunities.
Employers: Connect with students via Handshake
We use Handshake to post all job and internship opportunities as well as career fairs and career events to MGA students and alumni. Employers who already have an account should add MGA to their list of approved schools. If your company is new to Handshake, go to mga.joinhandshake.com and choose "employer" to set up your account. After setting up your account, add Middle Georgia State University as one of your institutions so you can register for career fairs and post jobs and internships directly to our students. Contact us if you have questions about setting up an account.
