Student Athletes

Advisement

  • Athletes have priority registration.
  • Athletes follow the same advising polices as all students (i.e. they transition to a departmental advisor at the appropriate time based on major).
  • Athletes are prevented from registering for their own courses due to an Athletic Hold. The athletic academic advisor will only register athletes for courses after advisement from their professional academic advisor.
  • Athletes are not allowed to withdraw from a course without approval of their athletic academic advisor.
  • Athletes must maintain full time enrollment status to be eligible that semester. Dropping below 12 credit hours in a given semester will result in loss of eligibility for that semester.
  • Athletes must meet the 12/24 hour rule to remain eligible. They must be currently enrolled in 12 credit hours and must have passed 24 total credit hours over the previous 2 semesters.
  • Athletes must meet the 24/48/72 hour progress rule to remain eligible each year.
  • A graduating senior has exemptions from these rules and is dealt with on a case by case basis.
