Office of Graduate Studies
Welcome to the Office of Graduate Studies. If you are a recent graduate or a mid-career professional, Middle Georgia State University now offers several affordable and convenient options for realizing a new career or even a major advancement in your current occupation. In July 2016, we received good news from our accrediting agency. Middle Georgia State University was approved as a Level III master’s degree granting university by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Since January 2016, we have offered the Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) and the Master of Science in Nursing. We even graduated our first MSIT students in December 2016.
At the end of March 2017, MGA was approved to offer the Master of Arts in Teaching in Secondary Education with Initial Certification (MAT) program. We are happy to inform you that we are now accepting students to the MAT and to the recently approved Master of Science in Management program. For both programs, the Regular Admissions Deadline is April 28, 2017, for summer 2017 enrollment. Please call Graduate Admissions for questions about deadlines or another other admissions matters. 478-929-6865.
We are also excited about our new Graduate Certificate in Technical Writing and Digital Communications, which is pending approval by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). This innovative program was developed by the Department of English, where is will be housed, the Department of Media, Culture, and the Arts, and the School of IT.
Let me say on behalf of Associate Dean Dr. Loretta Clayton and our Admissions Assistant Liz Douglas that we look forward to meeting you. Please give us a call!
