Autumn brings milestone moments
There’s something about autumn that reminds us how deep and wide the support for the MGA Foundation truly runs. This season has brought milestone moments that affirm the dedication and generosity of our campus family and extended community.
Our 2025 Faculty/Staff Campaign wrapped up on October 3 with record-breaking results. With this achievement, our faculty and staff have now contributed more than $1 million to Middle Georgia State University since we became a university just 10 years ago — a remarkable testament to their belief in our mission.
Another standout moment came with the extraordinary success of our annual #KnightsGive campaign — driven entirely by our incredible student-athletes. By reaching out to their networks of family and friends, many well beyond our region, they raised over $61,000 from 818 unique donors by the end of September. Their initiative and passion continue to inspire us all.
And then came the 2025 President’s Gala — what an unforgettable evening! A separate newsletter will soon share the photos and special moments from that night. For now, let me simply say: thank you. Your energy, enthusiasm, and generous hearts were on full display as we celebrated the impact of this community on our students’ lives.
Another meaningful event this October was the unveiling of the Douglas Davis, Jr. Intramural Fields sign on our Cochran Campus. This memorial was made possible through a generous gift from Foundation Vice Chair Casey Paulk, president and CEO of Paulk Landscaping and an MGA alumnus. Casey was also a close friend and college roommate of Douglas Davis, Jr., a Cochran native and former long snapper for MGA who went on to play for the Georgia Bulldogs. His unexpected passing in 2024 was a profound loss, and this tribute honors his memory while supporting our Knights athletics program.
As we soon move into November — the beginning of a joyful and reflective season — we remain deeply grateful for your partnership. Together, we hold a shared conviction in the power of higher education to transform lives, strengthen communities, and shape a better future.
