Donor Spotlight: Casey Paulk demonstrates selfless generosity
For more than 20 years, Casey Paulk has stood as a pillar of support, leadership, and generosity at Middle Georgia State University (MGA). As President and Chief Operating Officer of Paulk Landscaping & Nursery, Inc., a proud MGA alumnus, and a dedicated trustee, Casey’s impact on the university community runs deep and continues to grow.
His unwavering commitment—spanning nearly two decades of consistent giving—has helped shape the academic journeys of countless students. Most recently, Casey pledged $100,000 to MGA, with half designated to support the university’s transition to NCAA athletics and the other half establishing the Casey Paulk Endowed Athletic Scholarship. This lasting legacy will support student-athletes for generations to come.
Casey’s connection to MGA began in 1995, when he graduated with a degree in General Studies. He later earned a degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia in 1999. Reflecting on his time at MGA, he notes, “I’ve been with the institution through two mergers and have seen it grow from a two-year college into a university offering graduate programs. It’s been an incredible journey.”
But Casey’s contributions go well beyond financial givings. A long time member of the MGA Foundation Board of Trustees, he has served as Treasurer, Vice-Chair, and is set to become Board Chair in 2026. His leadership and vision continue to help guide the university’s progress.
When asked why he gives, Casey offers a simple but powerful answer:
“I just want to help someone take the next step—whatever that is. My giving might be what removes a barrier that’s standing in the way of someone’s future.”
As a father of two college students, Casey understands firsthand the pressures students face. His hope is that his support can help ease those burdens and off er encouragement when it’s most needed.
“If my giving can help even one student feel less pressure, then it’s worth it.”
He’s also inspired by the university’s growth and future:
“MGA is growing in all the right ways—academically, physically, and in how it connects with the community. It’s become a place people are proud to call their own.”
To students, Casey offers this advice:
“Do something kind for your future self every day. We all wish we could change something about the past, but the truth is—we have the power to shape what comes next.”
To potential donors, he shares this hearfelt reminder:
“Think about how your life might have been diff erent if someone had stepped in to help you. Now you have the opportunity to be that person for someone else.”
For Casey, giving to MGA is much like planting a seed—an act of faith in something greater to come.
“Giving back is just one way to say thank you to a university that has brought incredible value not just to me and my family, but to the entire Central Georgia region.”
Middle Georgia State University is honored to recognize Casey Paulk—a visionary leader, generous donor, and steadfast champion of student success.
