Middle Georgia State University proudly honors Christopher “Chris” Brazell—an extraordinary alumnus, dedicated donor, and steadfast advocate for student success. Chris’s journey with MGA spans decades, marked by service, generosity, and a deep belief in the transformative power of higher education.

Chris earned his associate’s degree at MGA in Engineering Technology in 1999 and a certificate in Surveying in 2012. As a student, he was a leader—serving in the Student Government Association and becoming the first resident assistant in the GAMES dorm.

Today, Chris is the Chief Operations Officer for EMC Engineering Services, Inc. He serves MGA as a Foundation Trustee, Athletics Committee member, and legacy donor. He was named the 2017 Outstanding Alumnus and was among the first to join the re-established Knights Athletics Association.

From 2010 to 2016, Chris taught as an adjunct instructor in the Engineering Department. In 2022, he and his family established the Brazell Family Endowed Scholarship, reflecting their belief in MGA’s mission and their desire to invest in future generations. “Our commitment is more than financial,” Chris says. “We are community advocates for the university and serve to help the university grow.”

Chris’s support has helped fund programs and scholarships aimed at reducing student debt and increasing access to education. He is a vocal supporter of MGA’s transition to NCAA Division II Athletics, believing athletics are essential to student engagement and institutional growth.

His fondest memories include time spent on the porch of Haynes Hall, intramural sports, and the mentorship of professors like Mr. J. Hardwick Butler. Above all, he honors the impact of Ma Eitel, saying, “Ma Eitel is one of those top five people in my life who I can say helped me become the person that I am today.”

Chris’s story is one of gratitude and purpose. Together with his wife Gilian and their two sons, he continues to instill values of generosity, education, and community. “This is a way to give back to the university that shaped who I am. Without MGA, I don’t think I would be where I am today.”

Chris, today we salute you. Your unwavering support and heartfelt commitment have shaped the lives of countless students and helped build a stronger MGA.
