On August 6, Dr. Blake and esteemed faculty members at Middle Georgia State University (MGA) gathered to express their heartfelt gratitude to the generous donors who established funds supporting endowed professorships and chair positions that are dedicated to exceptional teaching, research, and service.

The event provided an opportunity for endowed professors and chairs to meet and personally thank their benefactors, including:

  • Dubose Porter (Carolyn Wynn Smalley Endowed Chair of Biology)
  • Henry Oliner (Oliner Professorship in Free Market Economics)
  • The Peyton Anderson Foundation (Georgia Eminent Scholar in Business & The Peyton Anderson Endowed Chair of Information Technology)

Endowed professorships and chairs play a vital role in attracting and retaining top-tier faculty at MGA. These positions are key to fostering academic excellence, which in turn draws the brightest students to the university. With the support of these endowments, MGA continues to build a community of the best minds, most innovative researchers, and deeply committed teachers—individuals who are shaping the future workforce and enhancing the current one.
