MGA hosts inaugural Jennings Family Distinguished Lecture

We are thrilled to announce the inaugural Jennings Family Distinguished Lecture, scheduled for September 11 at 7:00 PM, and we warmly invite you to join us for this special event. The lecture will feature Matthew Stepka, a former vice president at Google and the founder and managing partner of Machina Ventures. Machina Ventures is an early-stage investment fund dedicated to fostering enlightened artificial intelligence that enhances human potential.

This thought-provoking lecture, titled “How AI is Transforming Education & the Human Experience,” will take place at the Robert C. Hatcher Conference Center on our Macon campus. An attorney who has long supported higher education in Georgia, Genelle B. Jennings has been instrumental in shaping the concept of and providing funding for the Jennings Family Distinguished Lecture Series, established to contribute to a deeper and more focused understanding of important science, business, civic, and cultural issues of the day. The lecture series is funded through a charitable trust named for her late husband, W. Mansfield Jennings, Jr., a businessman who served on the University System of Georgia’s Board of Regents.

We are also excited to share that the Sheridan Family Foundation has pledged a generous $450,000 over the next three years to support the MGA Foundation. This transformative gift will significantly benefit our students by expanding our Gap Fund and SEAL Fund and enhancing our needs-based scholarships. This substantial support not only strengthens our current initiatives but also builds on the impact of the Hatcher Family Gift from last year, showcasing the powerful synergy of philanthropy in action.
