There are exciting milestones and events at MGA
As Middle Georgia State University (MGA) prepares to kick off the 2025–26 academic year, there’s a renewed sense of energy and promise across our campuses. For incoming freshmen, this marks the beginning of a transformative journey. For seniors, the finish line is in sight as they focus on completing their degree requirements and launching into their next chapter.
This year is especially significant as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of MGA’s designation as a state university. This milestone will be a central theme throughout the academic year, woven into events and initiatives as we look ahead to expanding and strengthening our university in the decade to come.
We also reached a defining moment this July: MGA was officially accepted for provisional NCAA Division II membership. This is a major leap forward for Knights athletics. We’re thrilled to join the Peach Belt Conference—home to many nearby institutions in Georgia, as well as others in Florida and South Carolina. Go Knights!
The MGA Foundation is proud to support this exciting new chapter in athletics, and we’re especially focused on increasing scholarship opportunities for our student-athletes. If you’re interested in supporting this important investment, we invite you to learn more and give here: Knights Athletic Association.
Looking ahead to September, we are delighted to welcome you to the Second Annual Jennings Family Distinguished Lecture, taking place on Thursday, September 18, at the Hatcher Center. This year’s featured speaker is Stephanie Stuckey, Chair of Stuckey’s Corporation and former member of the Georgia House of Representatives. Her talk, "The Sweet Comeback: Reviving Stuckey’s Through Entrepreneurial Grit," promises to be both inspiring and insightful.
Join us for a reception at 6:00 p.m., followed by the lecture at 7:00 p.m. The event is free, thanks to the generous support of the Jennings Family, but space is limited and registration is required: Second Annual Jennings Family Distinguished Lecture.
Thank you for your continued involvement and enthusiasm. Your support plays a vital role in the success of MGA and the students we serve.
