Teaching and Research Interests:	Teaching interests focus on cybersecurity, with an emphasis on data analytics and artificial intelligence as they relate to protecting digital environments. Particular attention is given to how data-driven approaches and emerging technologies can be leveraged to detect threats, strengthen defenses, and support informed decision-making in complex security landscapes. A strong commitment is placed on helping students understand modern security challenges, including evolving cyber threats, risk management, and the importance of safeguarding sensitive information. Through a combination of foundational knowledge and practical application, students are equipped with the analytical and technical skills necessary to assess vulnerabilities, interpret data, and contribute to effective security solutions. Research interests align with these areas, focusing on the intersection of cybersecurity, data analytics, and artificial intelligence. Areas of exploration include strategies to address emerging threats, improve security resilience, and examine critical issues such as workforce development and the evolving cybersecurity landscape. The overall approach emphasizes critical thinking, real-world relevance, and the ability to apply concepts beyond the classroom. Professional Experience:	With over three decades of combined military and federal service, my experience in cybersecurity has been shaped through progressive leadership roles spanning communications, systems management, and enterprise operations. Service within the United States Space Force’s Space Training and Readiness Command (STARCOM) includes oversight of cyber capabilities that support secure, resilient, and mission-ready environments. Prior assignments across major Air Force units, including the Communications Directorate and the 402 Software Maintenance Group, provided hands-on experience in system management, server operations, and infrastructure planning, critical components in defending and sustaining secure networks. This professional experience is complemented by a strong academic foundation in cybersecurity and information technology, supported by advanced degrees and continuous professional education. Together, this combination of education and experience has fostered a comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity as both a technical and strategic discipline, encompassing risk management, threat mitigation, and the protection of sensitive information across complex, distributed environments. Ongoing engagement in data analytics and artificial intelligence further strengthens the ability to align cybersecurity practices with emerging technologies and evolving threat landscapes.
