Biography: I am an Army veteran and served during the first Gulf War. I earned my PhD in Theatre History, Theory, and Playwrighting from Texas Tech University. I was able to afford a PhD by taking advantage of my military educational benefits. That's why my academic focus is theatre that deals with military issues. I wrote my dissertation on plays that address the issues facing veterans returning from combat, such as Post-traumatic Stress, Moral Injury, and Military Sexual Trauma.

I have taught theatre here at MGA for six years and have directed eleven plays during that time. I am currently in rehearsals for the twelfth, Betty the Yeti: An Eco-Fable by Jon Klein. My wife and I moved here from Austin, Texas in 2019 to help with my mother-in-law's medical issues. In 2022, my brother-in-law passed away unexpectedly, and we are now raising my two nieces. In addition to that, I've somehow managed to acquire seven cats and three dogs. So, life's been pretty busy in the last six years between the Covid pandemic, plays, classes, kids, cats, and dogs. But teaching and directing plays here at MGA has actually been the thing keeping me sane.
