Autumn Blackburn

Autumn Blackburn

Health Service Administration (BS)
A. Donald Faulk, Jr. Scholarship

Autumn is driven by a clear and heartfelt purpose: improving the patient experience. Her passion for healthcare administration grew from her desire to blend clinical understanding with strong organizational and business leadership. Through her Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration at MGA, she gained a comprehensive foundation in the healthcare system—studying quality improvement, operations, financial management, and healthcare policy. Her involvement in student organizations focused on patient advocacy deepened her commitment to addressing healthcare disparities and expanding access to care.

With this strong foundation, Autumn is now preparing to pursue a Master of Health Administration. She’s eager to advance her skills in leadership development, data-driven decision-making, and strategic planning so she can assume greater responsibilities and help build a more effective, patient-centered healthcare system.

Your support through the A. Donald Faulk Jr. Scholarship has made a remarkable difference in her journey. It is far more than financial assistance—it’s encouragement, validation, and the freedom to fully invest in her education. Because of this scholarship, Autumn can focus more deeply on her studies, participate fully in research and coursework, and pursue internships that provide real-world experience. These opportunities are shaping her into the thoughtful, skilled office manager and future hospital administrator she strives to become.

Autumn’s commitment to community engagement is already evident. She has devoted many volunteer hours at Eyesight Associates, where she assisted with patient intake, maintained records, and scheduled appointments. That experience gave her first-hand insight into the administrative challenges providers face, particularly regarding patient flow and resource management. Today, she continues to support their administrative team, strengthening her understanding of how compassionate, efficient management directly impacts the quality-of-care patients receive.

“I want to express my deepest gratitude for this generous award. It has made a meaningful difference in my academic journey and will play a significant role in helping me continue my education at MGA. Your support has not only eased the financial burden but has also motivated me to work even harder toward my goals in Healthcare Administration. I am truly thankful for your generosity and for your commitment to supporting students and their futures.”

Natasha Jones

Natasha Jones

Psychology (BS)
USG Foundation Scholarship

Natasha is an inspiring non-traditional student whose dedication to serving patients has shaped every step of her academic and professional journey. She began with an associate degree in health management and went on to work in patient navigation at a hospital, where she discovered a deep passion for helping cancer patients access the resources they need. That experience led her to pursue a bachelor’s degree in psychology, with plans to continue into a master’s program in social work. Her goal is to remain in healthcare and support patients and families on an even deeper level.

Now a senior, Natasha can finally see the finish line. Balancing her job, coursework, and personal life is challenging, but she approaches it with optimism, focus, and determination.

This scholarship could not have come at a more crucial moment for her. She recently learned she had exhausted her Pell Grant funding and wasn’t sure how she would cover the cost of her next semester. Being so close to completing her degree—just 13 courses away—made that uncertainty especially stressful. She began searching for resources and scholarships that might help her continue. Being selected for this award brought not only relief but also renewed encouragement. To her, it feels like confirmation that she is on the right path—strengthening her education to enhance the essential work she already does for patients.

Natasha is also deeply committed to community service. Most recently, she supported a health fair at a senior community center, assisting with skin screenings. She also attended a Melanoma and Sarcoma appreciation event for survivors and families, where she had the opportunity to introduce herself and share information about the services available to patients facing barriers to treatment. These experiences reinforce her passion for compassionate, accessible care.

“I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for making this scholarship possible. Your generosity came at a moment when I truly needed support, and it has lifted an enormous weight off my shoulders. Because of you, I can continue pursuing my psychology degree with confidence, without the worry of falling behind financially. Your gift not only supports my education—it strengthens my ability to serve patients and families in my community through the work I do every day. I am deeply thankful for your kindness and for the opportunities your support has created for me.”

Peyton Smith

Peyton Smith

Occupational Therapy (AS)
PATHWAYS Scholarship

Peyton’s journey is a remarkable story of resilience, purpose, and transformation. He originally began his college career in flight school right after high school, but everything changed after a devastating accident during a church ski trip. He found himself at the bottom of the hill with two broken legs, a broken left arm, a severe bicep laceration, and a completely severed radial nerve.

Since January 2023, Peyton has undergone 10 surgeries and endured more than two years of intense recovery. Instead of allowing that experience to hold him back, he chose to let it shape his future. His time in rehabilitation introduced him to occupational therapy—people who helped him rebuild his life. Now, he is determined to do the same for others.

Today, Peyton is thriving in MGA’s Occupational Therapy Assistant program. He maintains an impressive 3.8 GPA, and since entering the OTA program, he has held a perfect 4.0. He is deeply committed to helping individuals who, like him, suddenly lose so much because of a single life-altering moment.

This scholarship carries extraordinary meaning for Peyton. It is more than financial support—it allows him to move forward without the overwhelming burden of school costs, medical expenses, gas, and food. It gives him the space to focus fully on his training and to become the best therapist he can be for the people who will depend on him. Your generosity is helping him continue a journey he nearly lost the chance to pursue.

Peyton’s spirit of service extends far beyond the classroom. Before his accident, he volunteered extensively through his church—supporting Operation Christmas Child, assisting with Hurricane Harvey relief efforts in Houston by helping rebuild roofs, and participating in numerous life camps across Georgia. Since his accident, he has continued giving back by volunteering in clinics, helping at school events, and serving as class president of the OTA program. He encourages his classmates to strive for excellence as future therapists.

“I want to express my sincere gratitude for this scholarship. Your generosity is helping me become the therapist I aspire to be, and I see this support as an investment that will ripple far beyond my education. The true return on your investment will be measured in the lives I hope to impact—helping parents regain independence so they can return home to their children, giving children the chance to play and thrive again, and supporting grandparents in living fuller, longer lives. Your support makes all this possible, and I am truly grateful.”

Chandler Ingram

Chandler Ingram

Air Traffic Management (AAS)
Lisa Henry Scholarship

Chandler is a 20-year-old MGA student working toward his dream of becoming an air traffic controller. What makes his story so meaningful is not just his academic focus but the personal growth he has experienced along the way. He shared that, growing up, he always tried to do the right thing—even when others didn’t—but he often carried a negative outlook about people and the world. His time here at MGA has transformed that. Being part of this community has helped him grow in gratitude, build a stronger character, and deepen his faith. He has faced many ups and downs, and at times, giving up felt easier, but his experience here has strengthened his belief that perseverance matters.

This scholarship has had a powerful impact on Chandler. To him, it is far more than financial help—it is a reminder that good people still exist. He described feeling isolated, discouraged, and unsure if anyone would be willing to support him. Receiving this scholarship restored his hope and renewed his confidence that he’s not alone on this journey. It has encouraged him to keep pushing toward his goals and to continue striving for greatness.

Chandler also makes service a priority. In the past, he volunteered at local food banks and participated in neighborhood clean-up projects. Today, he continues giving back by mentoring high school students and supporting nonprofit efforts in his community. These experiences have strengthened his leadership and communication skills, and they reflect his commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others.

“I want to express my sincere gratitude for your generous support in making this scholarship possible. Your kindness has been a true blessing in my life. I genuinely believe that God places people like you in the world to open doors for others, and your generosity has done exactly that for me.

Your support has not only eased the financial pressures of continuing my education—it has strengthened my motivation and renewed my faith as I work toward my goals with purpose. I am deeply thankful for your investment in my future, and I pray that God continues to bless you abundantly for the impact you are making in the lives of students like me.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your help and for the hope you’ve given me.”

Tyler Turner

Tyler Turner

Media & Communication (BA)
Dr. David A. Bell Presidential Scholarship

Tyler is an impressive young man whose dedication shows in everything he does—both in the classroom and on the field. Throughout high school, he balanced a demanding schedule of football and soccer while still maintaining a strong 3.7 GPA. Even after suffering multiple concussions that made studying and memory significantly more challenging, he refused to let those setbacks stop him. His determination, resilience, and love for learning carried him through. Tyler is passionate about sports, competition, and connecting with others, which has shaped the goals he is now pursuing.

This scholarship plays an important role in helping Tyler continue his path toward earning a bachelor’s degree in New Media. His dream is to become a sports broadcaster—or to work in a similar field, combining his communication skills with his love of athletics. Your support is giving him the opportunity to refine his talents, grow professionally, and become the best scholar and young man he can be.

Tyler has also been deeply involved in serving his community. Growing up in a small town, he often supported youth programs by reading to elementary students and assisting with athletic camps. He volunteered with his local Exchange Club, an organization dedicated to supporting children and preventing child abuse, and he remains active in his church’s youth group, participating in many community service projects.

“I’m incredibly grateful to have found a school that offers this program, and even more appreciative of donors who choose to support media, culture, and the arts. Your generosity not only eases my financial burden but also motivates me to keep pursuing my dream of becoming a sports broadcaster. Your support truly makes a difference, and I’m thankful for the opportunity it gives me to keep moving forward.”

David Knapp

Applied Art and Design (BA)
Peacock Endowed Art Scholarship

David is a 35-year-old visual artist who has spent much of his life searching for his place in the art world and building a sustainable creative career. After years of taking jobs outside his field just to make ends meet, he often felt stuck—like he was working hard but not moving closer to his artistic goals. Returning to school at MGA has changed that for him. Completing his degree represents not just an academic milestone but a meaningful step toward finally establishing himself as a professional artist. He is committed to excelling in his program and building a name for himself in the arts community.

This scholarship holds tremendous significance for David. It eases the financial strain that has followed him for most of his adult life and allows him to focus more fully on his studies and his creative work. For the first time in a long time, he feels like he is moving forward with purpose. Your support is giving him the chance to grow, to develop his craft, and to build the career he has worked toward for so many years.

David is also committed to giving back through his art. Recently, he volunteered at the grand opening of the Otis Redding Center for the Arts, and he hopes to do even more in the future—especially to support community arts programs. He has a passion for creating murals and would love to help beautify downtown Macon. He believes that when a space is transformed through art, it inspires people to take pride in it and care for their community.

“Thank you sincerely for your generous support. It truly means so much to me. I hope to follow in the footsteps of local artists like Craig Hamilton and Colin Penndorf and use my work to help make Macon an even more vibrant and welcoming place for everyone. My goal is not only to create art, but also to pass along what I’ve learned to future generations—helping keep the arts alive, accessible, and thriving, even during challenging times. Your generosity helps make that possible, and I’m deeply grateful.”
