Online Orientation
Welcome to MGA’s Online Orientation! This self-paced experience is designed to help new students get familiar with campus resources, student life, and academic expectations.
Please note: Students must have access to their MGA email account before they can log in to the platform.
Once you've viewed the Online Orientation, you will then need to complete the Advisement & Registration Confirmation linked below. Choose the link for the semester you are attending! Completion of this form provides consent to your academic advisor to register you for classes. The sooner you submit this confirmation, the better. Early registration ensures that you will have the best class selection!

After you submit the Advisement & Registration Confirmation, please view the Student Accounts video below to active your MGA student accounts.
Important Student Account Information
THERE ARE 3 DIFFERENT ACCOUNTS FOR STUDENTS AT MGA
All three accounts can be accessed on the university’s website (www.mga.edu) under Menu and then Current Students at the top right corner of the website. First-time access MUST be completed through a desktop or laptop computer.
MGA Email
All students are provided an MGA Email account to which official University communication is sent. Please begin checking this account weekly! Email accounts are NOT available immediately. Email accounts usually take 1 to 2 business days after you register for your first class to be created. First name.last name@mga.edu (some users may have a number after the last name) Default email password will be capital P, hashtag #, and your 6-digit birthday in MMDDYY format. Example – P#010193
Banner/ SWORDS
Banner/SWORDS is the University's gateway to the Banner Student Information System. The system provides online access to registration, grades, class schedules, transcripts, financial aid status, account balances, and much more. Your SWORDS account can be accessed with your student ID# (983######) as your username. The default password is your 6-digit birthday (010193)
D2L Brightspace
D2L Brightspace is the Learning Management System of Middle Georgia State University. A D2L Brightspace course site allows "anytime, anywhere" access to syllabi, readings, multi-media files, assignments, online quizzes, communication, grades, etc. Every MGA course has a Brightspace course site, be sure to check it regularly for course updates and notifications.Be sure to set up your email before accessing D2L Brightspace. New student accounts will NOT be loaded into D2L Brightspace until a few days before the scheduled start date of your classes. Classes will NOT be loaded until the night before the scheduled start date of your classes. Your default login information is the same as your email username and password.
