Cyber scholarship Program (CySP) from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD)

Scholarship Info:

  • Full scholarship to cover the cost of tuition, books, and required fees
  • Full cost for healthcare and a stipend for room and board:
  • $25,000 for undergraduate
  • $30,000 for graduate
  • Employment by a DoD Agency after graduation

Eligibility:

  • Student applicants must be rising juniors or senior undergraduate or graduate MSIT students.
  • Student must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Student must have a declared Cyber Security or Forensics concentration, by the date of application.
  • Recipients must attend fulltime,
  • Student applicants must have at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA, for undergraduates, or a 3.5 cumulative GPA, for graduate students, and maintain the minimum GPA required.

Requirements of Scholarship: Students selected to participate, in the scholarship program, will:

  • Receive employment placement with a DoD agency, or other federal agency;
  • Are required to sign a formal written agreement/contract to work for the DoD as a civilian employee for one calendar year for every year of scholarship assistance received; and an opportunity also exists for scholarship payback through active-duty military service.
  • Students will also be required to serve in internship positions with the DoD, if timing permits, during the period they are receiving scholarship support.
  • Ability to re-locate to satisfy internships and employment
  • Application Deadline: The designated MGA representative (Dr. Shannon Beasley shannon.beasley@mga,edu) must receive all required paperwork by 02/07/21 to be able to prepare application by 02/16/21 posted deadline for submitting the application.

Students who meet the age, citizenship, GPA, major, and academic rank/standing will be added to a D2L class that has been set up to guide you through the application process. This will allow you to receive feedback and refine parts of your application such as essays, resumes, and other documentation before submitting.

The process has several parts and all parts must be completed for the application to be submitted by MGA and accepted by the DoD.
