Biography: | Dr. Melissa Jordan has over 30 years of experience in healthcare, business administration, and education. She has held several positions at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia as a Registered Respiratory Therapist and Educational Coordinator of a School Nurse Health Program. Dr. Jordan has worked as a high school instructor and college professor at Terrell County Middle/High School in Dawson, Georgia, Troy State University in Dothan, Alabama, Columbus Technical College in Columbus, Georgia, Albany State University in Albany, Georgia , and currently Middle Georgia State University in Macon, Georgia. Dr. Jordan's research interest includes topics on Quality Management, Organizational Behavior, Leadership Issues, Healthcare Organizations, Healthcare Disparities, Teen Pregnancy, and Adult and Career Education. Published peer-reviewed academic journals include but are not limited to the Journal of Health Disparities Research and Practice (JHDRP), Journal of Case Research (JCR), International Journal of Liberal Arts and Social Science (IJLASS), International Academy for Case Studies(JIACS) , and the Journal of Multicultural Education (JME). Dr. Jordan has also presented her research studies at several major conferences which include but are not limited to the Southeast Case Research Annual Conference (SECRA), Eastern Academy of Management (EAM), and the Southern Management Association (SMA). Dr. Jordan recently earned her second doctoral degree from Valdosta State University in Valdosta Georgia in 2019. She earned a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree and her dissertation is titled, "The Lived Experiences of African American Female Completers and Exiters of an Undergraduate Health Care Program While Attending a Historically Black College and University." Dr. Jordan enjoys community service, running, and spending time with her family. She is also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated. |
