Biography: Dr. Keri Wilbur is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Middle Georgia State University in Macon, Georgia, and currently serves as program coordinator for the RN-BSN and PLBSN programs at MGA. Dr. Wilbur obtained her BSN at Georgia College and State University in 2001, and completed both her MSN and Ed.D at the University of Phoenix. Dr. Wilbur has over 17 years of nursing experience, with a background and area of expertise in emergency nursing. Since entering nursing academia, Dr. Wilbur has taught in various subject areas to include leadership/management, professionalism, medical-surgical courses, nursing research, community health nursing, physical assessment, and many others. Dr. Wilbur has been teaching online and distance education courses for over five years, recently rewriting and designing the curriculum for the online RN-BSN completion program at MGA. Dr. Wilbur’s extensive experience with online instruction, as well as her traditional instruction opportunities, paved the way for her to be awarded the 2017 MGA Excellence in Teaching award. Dr. Wilbur is well-known for serving as a professional role model for students, exhibiting accessibility and connectivity with students, and promoting student engagement. Focus areas for research and publication for Dr. Wilbur include student engagement in distance learning, educational empathy, incivility, and best practices in online instruction. In her spare time, Dr. Wilbur enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Scott, and five children ranging in age from almost 5 to not quite 16!!!!!! Listen, we are covering ALL developmental ages! We enjoy spending time at the ball fields, the ball courts, the dance studies, and most of all, church! But we have both a hand and heart full!
