| Biography: | Dr. Trevis Killen, a native of Warner Robins, Georgia, has over twenty years of experience in the K-16 setting, including nineteen years in the social work profession. He is passionate about the social work profession. Before joining Middle Georgia State University, Dr. Killen taught social work courses at Southern Regional Technical College, human services courses at Mercer University, and GED classes at Lanier Technical College. Dr. Killen is currently a school district administrator and executive cabinet member and coordinates the school social work program, school counseling program, homebound services, and the McKinney-Vento program. Before assuming that position, Dr. Killen was a school social work consultant for the University of South Florida’s Student Support Services Project with the Florida Department of Education. He worked as a school social worker for the Houston County Board of Education for eight years. Dr. Killen holds a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Administration from Georgia Southern University, as well as a Specialist degree in School Counseling, a Master of Social Work degree, and a Leadership Certificate, all from the University of Georgia. In 2011, Dr. Killen completed a Superintendent Academy and Central Office Professional Development Program. He enjoys grilling, watching western movies, and attending church with the family. |
