| Biography: | Dr. Trevis Killen, a native of Warner Robins, Georgia, has over 20 years of experience in K-16 settings, including 20years in social work. He is passionate about the social work profession. Before joining Middle Georgia State University, Dr. Killen taught social work courses at Southern Regional Technical College, human services at Mercer University, and GED classes at Lanier Technical College. Currently, he is a school district administrator and executive cabinet member, coordinating the school social work program, school counseling program, homebound services, and the McKinney-Vento program. Prior to this, he served as a school social work consultant for the University of South Florida’s Student Support Services Project, in collaboration with the Florida Department of Education. He worked as a school social worker for eight years with the Houston County Board of Education. Dr. Killen holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Administration from Georgia Southern University, as well as a Specialist in School Counseling, a Master of Social Work, and a Leadership Certificate, all from the University of Georgia. His academic achievements reflect his dedication to professional growth and excellence. In 2011, Dr. Killen completed a Superintendent Academy and Central Office Professional Development Program. In Dr. Killen’s spare time, he enjoys grilling, watching western movies, and attending church with the family. |
