Statewide Level 1 Drought Response Notice
Level 1 Drought Response: Let’s Be Smart About Water Use
The Georgia Environmental Protection Division has issued a statewide Level 1 Drought Response due to ongoing dry conditions. As a result, we’re asking all customers to help conserve water and use it wisely.
Here are a few simple ways to help:
- Check for leaks regularly—inside and outside your home—and fix them quickly
- Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth, shaving, or washing dishes
- Water your lawn only when needed, and make sure sprinklers aren’t hitting sidewalks or streets
Good news—you can still care for your landscape! Under Level 1 guidelines:
- Watering lawns is allowed daily between 4 PM and 10 AM
- Food gardens can be watered anytime
- New plants, seeds, or turf can be watered anytime for the first 30 days
- Drip irrigation and soaker hoses are allowed anytime
- Hand watering (with an automatic shutoff nozzle or container) is allowed anytime
Every drop counts. Let’s work together to use water wisely and keep our community strong
