What motivates you?
My biggest motivation is my family and two children, Caison and Nova. I want to create a better future for them while showing them that no dream is too big, regardless of the obstacles life may bring. I am also motivated by my passion for helping children learn, grow, and recognize their own potential, especially those who may need a little extra support.
What’s one word friends/family would use to describe you?
Eccentric. I have always been someone who marches to the beat of my own drum. I have a big personality, a creative mind, and my own unique way of doing things. I am not afraid to be different, think outside the box, or bring a little fun into everything I do. I believe that is part of what makes me who I am, and it is something I hope to bring into my future classroom.
What’s something you’re proud of during your time at MGA?
I am most proud of my determination to continue my education while balancing motherhood and life’s many responsibilities. There have been moments when giving up would have been easier, but I have continued pushing forward. I am also proud of the classroom experiences I have gained and the opportunity to turn what I am learning into meaningful experiences for students.
What’s been your biggest challenge?
My biggest challenge has been finding a balance between being a mother, a student, and managing the responsibilities of everyday life. There have been financial struggles, unexpected setbacks, and moments of exhaustion. However, those experiences have taught me perseverance, patience, and how to keep moving forward even when things do not go as planned.
What does “finding greatness” mean to you?
To me, finding greatness means recognizing your potential even when your circumstances make it difficult to see. It is not about having a perfect journey or never experiencing failure. It is about continuing to grow, overcoming obstacles, and becoming someone who can make a positive difference in the lives of others. Greatness is found in the decision to keep going.
What’s next for you after MGA?
After graduating, I plan to become an elementary school teacher and create a classroom where every child feels valued, supported, and capable of succeeding. I especially want to advocate for students with disabilities and help ensure they receive the opportunities and support they deserve. My goal is to make a lasting impact, one student at a time.
