Our 5 campuses serve more than 8,000 students. While some students commute, many live in the residence halls on our Macon, Cochran, and Eastman campuses, which offer several housing choices. Please take a moment to view our webpage where you will find detailed information about all of our our residence halls and even view our video tour.

Freshman Friendly Housing

The Cochran Campus has a special appeal for freshmen who desire strong academic support in the form of tutoring/mentoring programs, smaller core class sizes, a first-year residential experience program, a variety of student housing options and opportunities to live and learn with other freshmen.

Complete the Housing Application

Housing Applications for Summer and Fall 2016 will be available starting March 28, 2016. Dates for current and new students are listed below.

Announcements:
  • Fee Deadline 7/27/16
    Class registration and housing assignments will be dropped if fees are not paid by Wednesday July 27th
  • Move in for MGA Athletes in Cochran and Eastman 8/10/16*
  • Move In Day for Cochran and Eastman Campuses 8/11/16**
    New Students: 9:00 am-Noon; Returning Students: 1:00-6:00 pm
  • Move In Day for Macon Campus 8/12/16**
    New Students: 9:00 am-Noon; Returning Students: 1:00-6:00 pm
  • StarRez is our new official online housing portal. The housing portal must be accessed through your SWORDS account after you are accepted into MGA. Students can submit Housing Applications and pay the $155.00 housing application in SWORDS.
  • Please click here to learn more about SWORDS. You may also learn more about our residence halls here.
  • April 7 - July 28, 2016: New students will have access to the application portal via SWORDS. A new student must be accepted to the University. During this time, current residential students may apply for housing as well.
  • May 3, 2016: Any current student who has a room reservation and is NOT registered will lose their room reservation.

* Some student athletes will move in prior to August 10th; coaches will be in touch with more info.
** MGA Residence Life reserves the right to reassign rooms to other students if no one has checked in to these rooms by 6pm on Friday August 12, 2016. Students do not have to move in on Move In Day(s) but they must check in, get ID card access, and keys by Friday August 12, 2016 at 6pm.

Macon Housing Requirements

Any admitted student with less than 30 earned credit hours must reside in MGA on-campus housing until 30 credit hours have been earned. A student with less than 30 hours of credit may be exempt from this policy if he/she:
  • Has a permanent legal address within one of the following Georgia counties: Bibb, Bleckley, Crawford, Dodge, Dooly, Houston, Johnson, Jones, Laurens, Macon, Monroe, Peach, Pulaski, Telfair, Treutlen, Twiggs, Wheeler, Wilcox, Wilkinson
  • Has custody of dependent children
  • Is 21 years or older by the first day of classes for the semester enrolling
  • Is active duty military
  • Has a documented medical disability
  • Plans to enroll in only online classes while a student at MGA

A Fully Online Declaration Form must be completed.

A student transferring from the Cochran Campus or Eastman Campus to the Macon Campus will be required to live on the Macon Campus until 60 credit hours have been earned.

All exemptions require that a student complete an Exemption Form and provide proper documentation. The Exemption Form is available online, as well as at the Office of Residence Life on the Cochran Campus and the College Station Office on the Macon Campus.

Housing and Meal Plan expenses are listed in the Residence Hall Application Form.

Waiting List Update:

Macon Campus - There is currently a waiting list for housing on the Macon Campus for Fall 2016 - Spring 2017. Students can submit the Housing Application in SWORDS and follow the online reservation steps until you have a confirmation of entering the wait list. Many students on the waiting list will eventually be assigned housing. The $155.00 is refundable if a student is not assigned a room from the waiting list.


Cochran Campus - The Cochran Campus is MGA's largest residential campus but it is quickly filling up for Fall 2016-Spring 2017. First-year freshman are strongly encouraged to apply for housing on the Cochran Campus by submitting a Housing Application in SWORDS.


Eastman Campus - Residential students enrolled in aviation courses typically live on the Eastman Campus. Some aviation students live on the Cochran Campus and commute to Eastman. Space is limited in Eastman but still available at this time. Students enrolled in aviation courses are encouraged to submit a Housing Application in SWORDS to live on the either campus.

To access the online housing application you will first need to be accepted in MGA. You can log into your SWORDS account located here or under Quick Links "SWORDS" on any MGA webpage. After you are logged in please follow these steps:

  • Click on the tab Student located at the top.
  • Click on Housing/Meals application.
  • Click on Login.
  • Complete the first 3 steps.
  • Pay the $155.00 application fee then log back into the application again (follow the steps above).
  • The last page is the application status page. You have completed all steps when you get to this page.
