Curriculum Submission and Approval Process
All modifications or additions to the MGA curriculum must follow the official processes outlined on the University’s curriculum management webpage. Proposals submitted by individual faculty members or departmental/school curriculum committees require sequential review and formal approval from the following:
- Department Chairs and School Deans
- The Office of Academic Affairs
- The MGA Academic Affairs Committee
Depending on the nature and scope of the proposal—such as new programs, program modifications, policy changes, minor, or other substantive changes—additional levels of approval may be required. These include:
- The MGA Faculty Senate
- The University System of Georgia (Board of Regents)
- The USG System Office
- The appropriate USG Regents Advisory Committee
- The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)
- Specialized accreditation bodies
All curriculum proposals are submitted and tracked through MGA’s online Watermark Curriculum Management System. Forms are completed electronically and automatically routed through the appropriate levels of review. You may review digital forms directly within the CMS or access PDFs of the relevant forms [here] prior to submission; these outline the required elements, attachments, and supporting documentation necessary for a complete proposal. For assistance with the software, please contact Rachel Podwolsky in the Office of Academic Affairs. Instructional videos on how to navigate and use the system are available here.
