MSOT Graduation Requirements

Graduation eligibility will be determined by the Registrar’s office. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that all graduation requirements have been met and completing a graduation application/payment of graduation fee by the published Graduation Application Deadlines.

To graduate from the MSOT program, students must:

  1. Meet the graduation policies as stated in the MGA Graduate Studies Academic Catalog.
  2. Earn a cumulative program GPA of 3.0.
  3. Meet all requirements for progression in the program (refer to MSOT Student Handbook).
  4. Complete all didactic and fieldwork courses specified for the MSOT curriculum in accordance with the curriculum sequence for OTMS-prefix courses.
  5. Fulfill all financial obligations with Middle Georgia State University.
  6. Complete all Level II fieldwork within 18 months following completion of the didactic portion of the program.
  7. Also note:

    • In order to obtain a job as an Occupational Therapist, one must become certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) and licensed by the state in which one practices.
    • Graduates of the MGA OT Program may be eligible to sit for the National Certification Exam OT
    • A felony conviction may affect the ability to participate in fieldwork during the program, sit for the certification exam, or obtain licensure.
