Brianna GreenbergBrianna Greenberg

Computer Science Instructor
South Georgia Technical College

Brianna Greenberg is a computer networking and cybersecurity instructor and has held various IT roles over the last eight years. Her journey in IT began as a dual-enrolled high school student attending technical college where the networking instructor’s enthusiasm inspired her computing hobby into a career. She earned a BS and Master’s degree in IT at Middle Georgia State University, and several industry certifications. She designs cybersecurity courses and her main research interest is in improving assistive technologies for autistic adults. In the classroom, she found that her students have many different learning styles, and adapting to each student, whether by providing alternate formats for course material or by using assistive technology, is essential to their success. The field of IT can only benefit from diversifying the population of IT professionals, so my goal is to contribute to that by making IT education accessible to as many students as possible.

Erin LucasErin Lucas

Desktop Support Specialist
Blue Bird Body Company

Erin Lucas is a 2018 Middle Georgia Alumni. She earned a BS in Information Technology with a concentration in Cyber Security. She currently works at the Blue Bird Body Company Headquarters in Macon, Georgia as a Desktop Support Specialist. She will be transitioning into a Cyber Security role, although she has previously worked in Cyber Security for three years. Her day-to-day routine involves sending out user system access approvals for different systems they will use daily, along with normal day-to-day helpdesk issues our users encounter. She believes it's the small victories in helping users that mean the most to her in this profession, even if they are humorous. It is the sigh of relief on the user’s face, the look of astonishment, and the bemused smile of wonder that reminds her of the very essence of why she loves what she does.

Katelyn MurrellKatelyn Murrell

Data Scientist
Intel Corporation

Katelyn Murrell grew up in South Carolina and attended school to become a certified and state board licensed dental assistant. But after her partner’s job began relocating her family multiple times for new opportunities, Katelyn decided to leave her career as a dental assistant and focus on a global opportunity.

Katelyn started a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) online at Middle Georgia State University in 2018 specializing in software engineering. She enjoyed the creativity software engineering allows in building applications from scratch.

Katelyn said, "The academic program really gave me a solid foundation and a great launchpad to begin my career."

As a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success and Alpha Iota Mu (AIM) IT (Information Technology) Honor Society at Middle Georgia State University, Katelyn received an incredible opportunity to intern for NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) at Kennedy Space Center. Katelyn said, "It was the experience of a lifetime. I also now have the honor of saying I worked on components of the Artemis Mission that will take the first woman and next man to the moon!"

Shortly after graduating in May 2020, Katelyn began a yearlong internship as a Data Science Graduate Intern with Intel Corporation, as well as enrolled in the Online Master of Computer Science at Georgia Institute of Technology. Today, after an internship extension, she is in her 19th month of being with Intel, and still in the OMSCS program at Georgia Tech.
